It's been a minute

It's been a long time since I have posted.  I've decided that it's time to start up again.  It is a goal of mine to journal and also share my testimony with others.  Hopefully this will help.  This blog is mostly to help me out but, hopefully it will touch others as well.

So I am just going to kind of catch up in this post.

Some things that have happened in the past year
-Got pregnant after trying for a year and a half
-Lost the baby to a miscarriage
-Celebrated Tuffs  first birthday
-First Christmas in our house
-My best friend Lexi came home from her mission
-Celebrated my 23rd birthday
-All the niece and nephews grew and turned a year older. (Bryan-4, Wyatt-3, Baylee-2, Nathan-1, Blake-1)
-We got a new nephew-Austin Ryan Bateman
-We were able to go to the Supercross in SLC, a couple Real Games, and  a Jazz game.
-We had our Alumni Games in SLC for IWCC
-We got pregnant again
-Had to have surgery to remove the ectopic pregnancy
-Had many friends get married
-Had a ton of family get togethers on both sides of the family
-Went to the cabin a couple of times
-Hayden lost his job
-Celebrated a year in the new house

And I'm sure there are many more things that impacted our lives this year. It was mostly a great year of growing and strengthening our testimony's. Our love has grown towards all of our family, friends, and with each other.  We know that every experience we face is for our good and we are very thankful for that knowledge.  We are very thankful for our heavenly father's help and loving guidance throughout this year.

Fall Fun

Hayden’s brother Brady returned home from his mission at the first of September.  That weekend was packed with things surrounding his return.  For his welcome home he spoke in his dad’s ward and then his mom’s, and then after we had the luncheon at our house.  The whole weekend was so much fun!
We were able to attend the new Brigham City temple with the Bateman side of the family.  It was a great experience with the nephews and niece.  Bryan said right as he entered it, “Is this Jesus house?”.
Next was Hayden’s Birthday, Big 23!  We decided to go to the Bateman family Cabin in the Uintah Mountains.  We invited the whole family but only Eric, Rindy and the boys were able to come.  The boys kept us quite entertained while we were up there.  One of the days we decided to go fishing and while no was watching Wyatt decided to venture into the mud.  He got knee deep when we started to hear him whine because he couldn’t move.  It was so cute! He just kept saying “muddy” and “dirty” the whole time.  The fall colors were so awesome up there. It was so dang beautiful.

Halloween was a blast of course.  It’s fun being able to decorate our new house for the holidays.  At work we dressed up as the Kentucky derby.  I got to wear a big hat and cute dress to work.  After work we headed down to my parents house to see all the nephews and Baylee in their cute outfits.  Wyatt was the man in the Yellow hat from Curious George with his George stuffed animal.  Blake was Santa Clause.  Baylee was a kitty cat.  Bryan was Batman, and Nathan was Superman.  Mom and dad of course bought us Pizza and that was delicious too.

What's been going on with the Olsen's

There has been a couple of things that have happened since I wrote last.

First, We have a new "gem" in our garage.  My husband decided that he doesn't have enough to do during the day and decided to get another project.  I'm just kidding I let him buy it.  It's a 66 Oldsmobile 442.  Not in the best shape but has all the original parts.  My brother Ryan found it a few years ago decided not to buy it, and then the guy called him back just a little bit ago and told him he was selling it.  So, Hayden, Ryan and my other brother Eric went and checked it out. Lets just say I never thought that I would be helping with an old car again.  I told Hayden I never thought our garage would look like my brothers.  It will be fun though! I'm excited to car shows with my Brothers. :)

Second, we have bought a House! We love it! It was kind of a crazy process but it all turned out okay! It is very exciting to be homeowners. It is in Nibley, in a cute little neighborhood!  Pictures will be coming soon!

Third, we have two new nephews! Blake Mason Bateman arrived first. Eric, Rindy and Wyatt's new addition.  He looks just like Wyatt and is so cute!  Next, Jennifer and Paul had Nathan James Williams this month.  He was born on Uncle Rod's birthday.  Bryan loves his new little brother, almost too much! Nathan was a big boy weighed 8 pounds and 21 inches long.

Forth, Tuff got Neutered. Poor lil guy had to wear a cone for 7 days.  It was hilarious.  We found out how much he actually weighs at his appointment, 4 pounds! Just a little guy.  He did great though! He is child free!

And finally, It was our two year anniversary this month.  It's weird to think it's been that long! On the other hand it feels like forever! It's crazy to think back on all we have been through.  We have moved 3 times in those two years. Out to Iowa and back, and then from our apartment to our house.  We have had crazy ups and downs, but it's like that song..."I wouldn't trade a hundred years the other way."

My Baby Loves Me

I found this video that Hayden made me when I was having a hard day.  It was when we were first dating and all the way in Iowa going to school. I still look at it once in awhile when I'm having a rough day.  It's nice to look at the pictures and remember why he loves me.  We have grown so much since then :)  Hope this doesn't embarrass him.

Patience

Lately the word Patience has been coming up in my mind.  I seem to find myself always waiting for what I want to happen.  Today I realized it's not what I want to happen it's what Heavenly Father has planned.  Patience right now is my biggest test and I wanted to share a talk I was reading about it.  It is called the Power of Patience, by Robert C Oaks.

First, “charity suffereth long.” That is what patience is all about. Charity “is not easily provoked” is another aspect of this quality, as is charity “beareth all things.” And finally, charity “endureth all things” is certainly an expression of patience (Moroni 7:45). From these defining elements it is evident that without patience gracing our soul, we would be seriously lacking with respect to a Christlike character.

“Let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath” (James 1:19).
“Nevertheless the Lord seeth fit to chasten his people; yea, he trieth their patience and their faith” (Mosiah 23:21).

We can grow in faith only if we are willing to wait patiently for God’s purposes and patterns to unfold in our lives, on His timetable.  It's hard for me to step back once in awhile and think of the eternal things, this talk brought that back home for me.  It's really hard to wait for things that you feel like you need right now! But, as I have seen before in my life sometimes waiting for Heavenly Father's plan is the only way to truly be happy.

Life as we know it!

Well I just decided that I should have started doing this a long time ago.  We could have been doing this the whole time in Iowa! Then our Family could see what has been going on in our lives.  Oh well I'll start now.

Hayden and I have been living in Iowa for those of you that don't know.  We have been married for about ten months.  Life has it's struggles but we are very happy.  We will be moving back to Utah in about a week! We are so excited!! We will be living in my parents basement apartment until further notice.  We are looking for jobs if anyone knows of anything?

I'm thinking it would be nice to share a little bit about ourselves for our family that hasn't gotten to know us that well yet...
Hayden was born and raised in Wellsville, Utah(just outside of Logan).  I am from Ogden. We are the same age.  We met at Iowa Western Community College.  Both of us had soccer scholarships there.  I feel like from the begining Hayden and I have been blessed!  It is crazy how Heavenly Father knows each and everyone of us, and if we have faith he will make everything work out just fine.  I just have a feeling things happened the way they did for a reason, I don't know if I would have met him if he hadn't came to Iowa when he did.  :) Some of you will know what I'm talking about.  Anyway, so we met here decided we couldn't spend anymore time apart and got married, then moved back out. I have been assistant coaching while hayden has been playing.  Both of us finishing up school. That is pretty much it for now.
